With Nick Johnson again not in the lineup on Tuesday, it raises the likelihood that the first baseman is headed for the disabled list. Johnson has been dealing with a right hamstring sprain.

For the first time since Wednesday night at Houston, Jorge Cantu is in the Marlins starting lineup.

Cantu had missed three starts with a stiff neck, but he was back on Sunday in the series finale with the Braves at Turner Field. Cantu is riding an 11-game hitting streak, and he’s 7-for-8 lifetime against Derek Lowe.

The Marlins once again will be without Jorge Cantu in the starting lineup. Cantu hasn’t played since Wednesday night at Houston, due to a stiff neck.

Nick Johnson, who strained his right hamstring last Sunday, also is getting at least one more day off.

Marlins lineup without Johnson

Nick Johnson was out of the starting lineup for the second straight game on Tuesday, as the veteran first baseman rests his strained right hamstring. Johnson said he is feeling better, but he isn’t optimistic about starting in any of the three games at Houston.

Ross Gload started at first base for Florida in the series opener with the Astros at Minute Maid Park.
