Bonifacio back in lineup

Overall, the Marlins are 39-39 on the road this year after they dropped three of four at Milwaukee.

On Monday, they begin their final away series of the season, as they take on the Braves at Turner Field.

Alex Sanabia gets the starting nod, while the Braves are going with Tommy Hanson.

Monday marks the return of Emilio Bonifacio to the starting lineup. Bonifacio has been bothered by a tight left hamstring. He is starting at shortstop as Hanley Ramirez isn’t ready to return.

Marlins open crucial series

After taking two of three from the Mets in New York, the Marlins are two games above .500 as they open a three game series at Atlanta.

The Marlins are 8 1/2 in back of the Braves in the NL East, and they’re six games out in the Wild Card chase.

“The way I see it, and pretty much the way the whole team sees it, every game is important to us, regardless of it we play the Braves or any other team,” manager Edwin Rodriguez said. “We had a very good series in New York. I think we have the momentum going our way. This is the time, we’re playing the teams that are ahead of us.

“If we have a very good series here, we’re going to start putting some pressure on the teams above us.”
