Uggla out of lineup again

Dan Uggla, nursing a right groin strain, was out of the starting lineup for the second straight day on Tuesday.

The Marlins slugger had played in all of the team’s first 129 games before he was scratched on Monday in a game the Marlins lost 9-3 to the Nationals.

Emilio Bonifacio is filling in for Uggla at second base, while Gaby Sanchez is hitting in the cleanup spot.

Uggla is sitting on 29 homers and he is one shy of becoming the first second baseman in MLB history to post four 30 home run seasons.

Marlins-Mets lineups for Thursday

The Marlins rebounding from a loss on Tuesday to hold on for a win on Wednesday. Now they are in position to claim their series with the Mets at Citi Field on Thursday.

The Marlins hold the season series edge, 9-6. The NL East rivals will meet again at Sun Life Stadium for two games on Sept. 21-22.

Hanley Ramirez, sporting his dyed red hair, will be batting third.

Bonifacio starting on Sunday

The Marlins look to avoid being swept on Sunday afternoon at Cincinnati.

Anibal Sanchez takes the mound for the Marlins, who now are one-game under .500 after dropping two straight at Great American Ball Park.

Emilio Bonifacio is starting in center field in place of Cody Ross. Mike Stanton, who is hitting .475 (19-for-40) with six homers and 11 RBIs, will be batting fifth for the third game this year.

The Marlins lineup on Tuesday welcomed back two key position players. Gaby Sanchez (hamstring) and Cody Ross (stiff neck) will each start for the first time since last Thursday.

The Marlins open a three-game set at Nationals Park. Stephen Strasburg gets the start for Washington.

The Marlins have dropped two straight and look to even their three-game set with the Phillies on Wednesday at Sun Life Stadium.

Anibal Sanchez, coming off a one-hit shutout over the Giants at AT&T Park last Thursday, takes the mound for Florida. Kyle Kendrick gets the nod for Philadelphia.

The Marlins try to salvage a four-game split with the Giants on Thursday afternoon at AT@T Park.

Jorge Cantu, the subject of trade speculation, is in the lineup, playing third base and batting fifth.

Dan Uggla has belted four homers in the first three games of the series, and he has six over his last six games.

The Marlins and Rockies open a four-game set at Sun Life Stadium on Monday. Anibal Sanchez takes the mound for Florida. Colorado is going with Jimenez, who carries a 15-1 record into the contest.

Marlins lineup Thursday

After taking two of three at the Dodgers, the Marlins open a four-game set with the D-backs at Chase Field on Thursday night. One change to the lineup is Brett Hayes got the nod at catcher for Ronny Paulino.

Paulino has been getting a majority of the work. He took a foul ball off the bat of Rafael Furcal in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Hanley back in lineup Tuesday

A couple of days off, and Hanley Ramirez is good to go.

Ramirez was back in the starting lineup at shortstop in the Marlins series opener with the Orioles on Tuesday night at Camden Yards.

Ramirez experienced tightness in his right hamstring in the eighth inning on Saturday. He was given off on Sunday, and the Marlins were off on Monday.
