Pierre joins 2,000-hit, 600-steals club

PHILADELPHIA — Juan Pierre reached a milestone on Thursday night. On Friday, the veteran left fielder will be looking to do his part in helping the Marlins snap a two-game slide.

In Thursday’s 7-2 loss to the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park, Pierre swiped third base in the first inning. It was career stolen base No. 600 for Pierre.

The 35-year-old is just the 14th player in MLB history to reach 600 stolen bases. He’s also on another exclusive list. He is one of 12 players ever to have at least 2,000 hits and 600 bases.
