Reed claimed off waivers by Tigers

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Evan Reed, designated for assignment on Sunday by the Marlins, has been claimed off waivers by the Tigers.

The rest of the players the Marlins designated on Sunday all cleared waivers, meaning they may wind up in Miami’s Minor League system.

Reed, a right-handed reliever, was acquired by the Marlins from the Rangers for Jorge Cantu in 2011. The 27-year-old was at Triple-A New Orleans last year.

Clearing waivers were Gorkys Hernandez, Zack Cox and Scott Maine.

Hey there you probably don’t remember me sending you a message during springtraining about Zack Cox. I told you he was a gamer and he would be a solid bat and fielder givin the opportunity , at any level. I think they messed with him to get more power last year.
What do you think of his season this year ? Are you inclined to agree or disagree with my prediction? Do you think he will get a shot after being placed on waivers and not getting picked up? I believe anywhere around .300- .320 in the bigs would make him a career and a hot commodity.
