Winter Warm Up at Marlins Park

MIAMI — Marlins Park was open on Saturday for the Marlins MetroPCS Winter Warm Up.

The gates opened at 10 a.m. ET, and admission is free, but parking is $5.

Saturday is the first day individual game tickets for the 2013 regular season went on sale. They are available at http://www.marlins.com.

During a morning Q&A session with season ticket holders, manager Mike Redmond said: “We’re going to get this back on track.”

After losing 93 games and finishing last in the NL East a year ago, the Marlins dramatically overhauled their roster.

Fans frustration is running high, as the club has gotten considerably younger.

Redmond, who has replaced Ozzie Guillen, noted that he was part of a rebuilding period during his playing days with the Marlins. He broke in with the organization in 1998, and after losing 108 games that year, the organization developed into a championship team in 2003.

Miami on Friday also outrighted outfielder Bryan Petersen to Triple-A New Orleans. Petersen also will be in Spring Training with the Marlins.

Miami has 74 players scheduled to participate in Spring Training, which begins with pitchers and catchers workouts on Tuesday.
