Marlins going with a six-man rotation

MIAMI — The Marlins will be going with a six-man rotation for the rest of the season.

The decision was made to take a look at some of the young arms, as well as rest some of the veterans in a month where the club is partly evaluating which direction they will go in 2013.

The revised rotation will have Wade LeBlanc returning to the rotation, after he was used in long relief of late. The lefty will start on Tuesday night in place of Jacob Turner, the 21-year-old who will be pushed back a few days.

“LeBlanc is going to start,” manager Ozzie Guillen said. “Just because we’re worried about Turner’s innings. We’re going to give him a little rest. He’s never pitched in September. He never pitched that many innings.”

After LeBlanc faces the Brewers on Tuesday, Nathan Eovaldi will start on Wednesday, and Josh Johnson will close out the four-game set with Milwaukee on Thursday.

Turner will start the series opener at Washington on Friday. Mark Buehrle will start on Saturday and Ricky Nolasco on Sunday against the Nationals.
