Stanton back in cleanup spot
MIAMI — Searching for more run production, Giancarlo Stanton is back in the cleanup spot.
Manager Ozzie Guillen had been going with Stanton in the fifth spot since he returned from the DL in early August, after missing a month due to right knee surgery.
On Sunday, Stanton flip-flopped with Carlos Lee, who had been hitting fourth. Lee is batting fifth in the series finale with the Mets on Sunday.
After letting a ninth-inning lead slip away on Saturday, Miami has dropped the first two against New York.
The Marlins also have lost three straight.
Mark Buehrle takes the mound in the 1:10 p.m. ET meeting with the Mets at Marlins Park.
