New prospects shake up Minor League rankings
ATLANTA — Now that the non-waiver trade deadline has passed, the Marlins will be able to assess the talent they’ve acquired.
In the final week before the deadline, the Marlins pulled off four trades. At the big league level, Nathan Eovaldi and Gorkys Hernandez will get a look.
At the Minor League level, Jacob Turner, Zack Cox and Rob Brantly are promising prospects.
Their additions have already impacted the rankings of the Marlins prospects.
Turner, the right-hander brought in from Detroit, is now rated Miami’s No. 1 prospect, according to MLB.com’s Jonathan Mayo.
Turner unseats Christian Yelich as the top prospect, and Jose Fernandez slides to third. Zack Cox, obtained on Tuesday from the Cardinals, is now the fourth highest touted Minor Leaguer in the system.
Catcher Rob Brantly, also acquired from Detroit, is rated No. 13. So three of the Marlins top 13 prospects to date were brought in from other teams this past week.

The question will be where the overall list ranks among the other teams. Love the moves (even the Hanley deal) and the system was pretty barren just a week ago.
And Flynn is 18th, so 4 of the top 20 prospects.
