Hanley shaken up in BP, scratched from lineup
ST. PETERSBURG — Hanley Ramirez was struck on the nose by a ball that deflected off a screen during batting practice before the Marlins faced the Rays on Friday night.
In the cages, a batted ball plunked the Marlins third baseman in the nose, which was bloodied and swollen.
A dazed Ramirez was removed from the lineup. Donovan Solano was inserted into the lineup, playing third base and batting second.
Ramirez is expected to be fine. He’s being examined by the doctor.
Chances are he will be ready for Saturday.
