LoMo teams with The Clevelander for a cause
MIAMI — Logan Morrison continues to step up to the plate in the fight against lung cancer, the disease that claimed his father’s life in 2010.
The Marlins left fielder has teamed up with The Clevelander to launch a specialty drink called, the “Home Run.”
The Home Run will combine all of The Clevelander’s frozen drinks. Proceeds from the new drink will go to the American Lung Association.
Tom Morrison passed in December of 2010 after suffering stage IV lung cancer.
“By now, I feel that people have a good sense of who I am and my background,” Morrison said in a statement. “The Home Run is a combination of my fun-loving personality and a cause that has dramatically affected my life. I’m excited to introduce this drink to the Marlins’ Ballpark and see all of the fans ‘LoMoing’ at The Clevelander for the American Lung Association.”
The Clevelander poolside bar area — located beyond the left field wall — is one of the most popular features at Marlins Park.
The Marlins open a weekend series with the Mets at Marlins Park on Friday, which will be the first day the Home Run beverage will be sold.
In the past two years, various initiatives by Morrison have raised more than $230,000 for the American Lung Association.
