Actor Steven Bauer visits Marlins
SAN DIEGO — Actor Steven Bauer, a Miami native, is a huge Marlins fan.
So much so that he drove down from his home in the Los Angeles area to San Diego on Sunday to watch the series finale against the Padres.
Wearing a No. 17 Marlins’ jersey with Bauer on the back, the actor was in the team’s clubhouse afterwards. He mingled with Ricky Nolasco, the winning pitcher on Sunday.
He also spent time with Ozzie Guillen, Josh Johnson and Giancarlo Stanton.
Bauer attended the University of Miami, and he was at Marlins Park in April for a game against the Astros. He also took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new ballpark a few years ago.
“It’s the greatest park in the world,” Bauer said of Marlins Park. “It’s the most amazing place I’ve seen a sporting event. The most amazing place. Staples Center is pretty good for Lakers games. The Miami Arena is pretty good. [Marlins Park] is so aesthetically beautiful. It’s so fan friendly, you can’t help but have a great experience. Even if you’re losing.”
Bauer returned to Los Angeles after being in New York, where he was filming a movie, “Last I Heard.”
