Reyes greeted with mixed reviews
NEW YORK — Reaction was mixed for Jose Reyes in his first game at Citi Field as a member of the Miamii Marlins.
A four-time All-Star with the Mets, Reyes heard his share of cheers and jeers during warmups and his first at-bat on Tuesday night.
A pocket of fans held up a huge sign in support of Reyes, and they chanted: “Jose! Jose! Jose! Jose!”
On the flip side, there were some who gave Reyes an earful during batting practice. They stood above the Marlins dugout, wearing Reyes shirts with an X taped over the shortstop’s name.
The Marlins signed Reyes to a six-year, $106 million contract in December.
