Lefty prospect Benjamin undergoes surgery
JUPITER, Fla. — Marlins prospect Ramon Benjamin, projected to open at Double-A Jacksonville, will miss the entire season after undergoing surgery repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
The procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday in Pensacola, Fla.
Benjamin will need about five months of rehab, and he is expected to be ready for 2013.
