Hanley batting sixth
ST. PETERSBURG — Willing to try anything to generate some offense, Marlins manager Edwin Rodriguez is leading off Dewayne Wise, while Hanley Ramirez has dropped to sixth in the lineup.
Saturday marks the second time in Ramirez’s career that he’s started a game in the six hole. He previously hit there on Aug. 4, 2006. He has four lifetime at-bats in three games while hitting sixth.
The Marlins have been limited to one run in their last two games, and they have lost eight straight heading into Saturday night against the Rays at Tropicana Field.
Wise had two hits while batting ninth on Friday night.
The Marlins lineup for Saturday is: Wise (CF), Emilio Bonifacio (RF), Logan Morrison (LF), Gaby Sanchez (1B), Greg Dobbs (3B), Mike Stanton (DH), John Buck (C), Omar Infante (2B).
Ricky Nolasco takes the mound in hopes of ending the Marlins’ losing streak.
