Lopez batting fifth in finale
PHILADELPHIA — Jose Lopez, who had a double off Roy Halladay in Game 2 on Wednesday, was back in the lineup on Thursday in the series finale with Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
Lopez was given the starting assignment at third base, after he was at second base on Wednesday.
Manager Edwin Rodriguez plans on giving Lopez ample playing time at third base, perhaps in a platoon situation with Greg Dobbs.
As expected, Hanley Ramirez was given the day off after he started Game 2 on Wednesday night. For about two weeks, the team will avoid starting Ramirez in day games after night games.
