JJ with extra day of rest
NEW YORK — An extra day of rest typically results in a more effective Josh Johnson.
Johnson takes the mound for the Marlins on Monday night against the Mets at Citi Field.
Due to last Thursday’s off-day, Johnson will be going on five days rest between starts. He last pitched on May 10 against the Phillies.
In JJ’s four starts this year with an extra day of rest, he is 2-0 with a 0.33 ERA. He’s allowed one earned run in 27 1/3 innings in those games. Opposing batters are hitting .130 (12-for-92) in those games.
For his career, Johnson is 16-10, 2.91 in 43 starts on five days rest.
