Hensley to DL, Badenhop called up
MIAMI — The Marlins on Saturday have placed setup reliever Clay Hensley on the 15-day disabled list with a left rib contusion, and recalled right-hander Burke Badenhop from Triple-A New Orleans.
Hensley, who pitched 1/3 of an inning on Friday, has been dealing with discomfort in his left shoulder blade area and rib cage for about a week. The right-hander slipped at the team hotel when the team was in Cincinnati, and he’s been trying to pitch through some discomfort.
Badenhop appeared in 11 games for New Orleans, posting a 1-1 record with a 6.75 ERA.
