LoMo has cast removed

MIAMI –  The cast came off on Monday, and Logan Morrison is encouraged about how his left foot is feeling.

Morrison is on the disabled list with a strained left arch, and he is projected to miss two to four weeks. For the past few days he was in a hard cast, but it was removed on Monday, and the Marlins left fielder was cleared to ride the exercise bike.

Morrison said he will know more about his recovery timeline after he takes live batting practice, which could come as early as this weekend. He is not making the road trip with the Marlins to Cincinnati, and he will get his treatment this weekend at the Roger Dean Stadium complex in Jupiter.

In the next couple of days, Morrison will do some throwing. Before he returns to the lineup, he is expected to play in some Minor League rehab games.

As for the cast Morrison has been wearing, he plans on putting it up for auction in hopes of raising money for the American Lung Association.
