Hanley back in lineup
Hanley Ramirez is back in the Marlins lineup after sitting out four straight games with left elbow inflammation.
The three-time All-Star shortstop came in early on Tuesday and took some swings in the cages. While he didn’t show full extension with his elbow during batting practice on Monday, Ramirez is playing, and he will wear a protective sleeve on his left arm when he is batting.
Ramirez said his elbow has been bothering him for about six weeks.
The Marlins and Mets open a two-game series on Tuesday at Sun Life Stadium. Adalberto Mendez gets the start for Florida against New York’s Mike Pelfrey.
Logan Morrison enters Tuesday riding a string of 39 straight games of reaching safely.
