Hanley back, Uggla ailing
A day after leaving the game due to dizziness, Hanley Ramirez is back in the Marlins lineup on Monday against the Nationals at Sun Life Stadium.
But late in the afternoon, the team announced Dan Uggla would not play due to a strained right groin.
Uggla was initially in the lineup, but was replaced at second base by Emilio Bonifacio.
Manager Edwin Rodriguez says Uggla is day-to-day, but chances are he could missed at least another game or two in the series.
“When you’re talking about a leg injury, it’s hard for me to believe,” Rodriguez said of a player missing just one game.
Uggla noted some soreness after Sunday’s game in Atlanta.
Cameron Maybin also is starting in center field, after sitting out on Sunday at Atlanta. Maybin had a mild left groin strain on Saturday.
Alex Sanabia gets the start for Florida, while Washington is going with Jason Marquis.
