Music to their ears
The sounds of victory are different these days in the Marlins clubhouse.
One change made in recent days is music again is being played in the clubhouse after games, or more specifically wins.
The past few seasons, and earlier in the year, there was a music ban, Players were allowed to listen to songs of their liking, but on their IPods.
Recently, the players made their case to bring music back to pick up the spirits. Music once again is allowed.
“We felt there wasn’t any life in the clubhouse,” outfielder Cody Ross said. “It was a little dead.”
Players now compile their personal lists of 10 songs and they are submitted, and played accordingly. The players agreed to tone down the songs when conducting interviews after games.
“We turn it down to respect the media,” Ross said.
Several years ago, music blared loudly in the clubhouse. It reached the point that led to the ban, which now has been lifted.
