Lineup for Friday
With the Giants starting lefty Barry Zito, the Marlins are sitting left-handed hitting Chris Coghlan. Brett Carroll gets the start in right field, with Jeremy Hermida in left.
The lefty-lefty matchup is one reason Coghlan is sitting. Another is a reminder that the 23-year-old is here to contribute, and be heads up. In the third inning of Thursday’s 4-3 win, Coghlan made a baserunning mistake.
After leading off the inning with a single, Coghlan had a lapse, forgetting how many outs there were. With one out, Coghlan was off and running on a pitch that was lifted in the air by Hanley Ramirez to center field. Coghlan was doubled up at first base because he forgot their was one out when the ball was hit.
Here’s tonight’s lineup at Land Shark Stadium:
1) Bonifacio, 3B
2) Hermida, LF
3) Hanley, SS
4) Cantu, 1B
5) Uggla, 2B
6) Ross, CF
7) Paulino, C
8) Carroll, RF
9) Volstad, P
