Wood expected to get call
The Marlins are planning on calling up right-hander Tim Wood from Triple-A New Orleans on Thursday.
Wood, 26, will be filling the roster spot vacated by right-hander Hayden Penn, who was designated for assignment after the Marlins lost 9-6 to the Brewers on Wednesday night at Land Shark Stadium.
Wood was in Spring Training with the Marlins. In 14 games with the Zephyrs, Wood posted a 1-0 record and an 0.54 ERA. In 16 2/3 innings, he has allowed just one earned run, and three total. He has struck out 17 and walked seven.

Ok now this might be a longshot here but why don’t the Marlins try to sign recently released pitcher Tom Glavine? He can’t be too expensive and he still has some decent stuff after his last rehab start in Rome and he is a veteran presence the Marlins desperately need. And it would just scream, “SUCK IT” to Atlanta which I love since I live there and have to listen to whining Braves fans all the time. Go Marlins!!!!
