Stanton promoted to Double-A
Michael Stanton is on the fast track.
The Marlins are promoting the 19-year-old outfielder from Class A Jupiter to Double-A Jacksonville. Stanton’s first game in Double-A will be on Friday.
At Jupiter, the power-hitting right fielder appeared in 50 games. In 180 at-bats, he was hitting .294 with 12 home runs and 39 RBIs.
Stanton, a second round pick in 2007, is regarded as one of the top prospects in all of baseball.
