Uggla reaches milestone

Dan Uggla made MLB history in the second inning on Tuesday.

His two-run homer in the second inning off Brewers left-hander Manny Parra was career No. 100 for the Marlins second baseman. He’s now reached the century home run mark faster than any second baseman in MLB history.

The 29-year-old did it in his 502nd game at the position. Alfonso Soriano previously held the distinction, doing it in 536 games at second.

A look at Uggla’s career shows he’s pretty balanced at home and away. He has 52 at home in 258 games, compared to 48 on the road in 251 games.

For his career at home, Uggla has 159 RBIs at home, and 149 away.

Congratulations to Uggla! What he does, in a pitcher’s ballpark no less, is truly amazing.
Fastest 2B EVER to 100 home runs. EVER. There’s a lot of names below him on that list…over 100 years worth

That game was awesome last night. Uggla hits HR #100, Cody Ross hits a grand slam…..The Marlins are exciting to watch again. I just hope it lasts. Go Marlins!!!!
