Pregame Doubleheader highlights

What was worth keeping an eye on before the Marlins faced the Diamondbacks in a doubleheader on Wednesday.

* Alfredo Amezaga will not play until Saturday, at the earliest. Still nursing a deep bone bruise to the inside of his left knee, Amezaga last played in the eighth inning on Saturday. There is a chance he could be placed on the disabled list, retroactive to May 17. Amezaga will have his knee examined again by team Dr. Lee Kaplan on Friday, and more on his status will be known then.

* Burke Badenhop remains a candidate to pitch on Saturday against Tampa Bay.

* Jeremy Hermida hit in the second spot in Game 1 on Wednesday for the sixth time this season. Chris Coghlan started in left field and batted in the eighth spot for the first time.

* John Koronka was assigned outright to Triple-A New Orleans on Wednesday. Koronka was designated for assignment last Sunday, and he will now head back to the Zephyrs.
