Penn should be fine
It’s like Hayden Penn’s sore right ankle should be fine.
Penn sprained the ankle on Friday afternoon, slipping on the turf in front of the mound in the sixth inning of the Marlins, 8-6, loss to the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
The right-hander turned suddenly on Mike Fontenot’s single to right field. Wanting to redirect to back up third base, Penn’s cleats went out from under him, and he rolled his ankle.
Manager Fredi Gonzalez said on Saturday morning that Penn should be fine.
Penn has been filling in a long relief role.
