Winding down camp
With two Grapefruit League games to go, Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez will be a little more guarded with his roster.
The starting position players will get about three at-bats before being replaced on Friday night against the Blue Jays at Roger Dean Stadium. Then on Saturday afternoon, the starters will likely see one at-bat, or about three innings.
On Saturday’s Grapefruit League finale, look for the starters to be out after three innings, and a lot of Minor Leaguers will get into the game. Prospects Matt Dominguez and Michael Stanton are expected to play.
Gonzalez noted that he doesn’t want any situations where something happens like it did to Alejandro De Aza, who injured his ankle in the last inning of the last Spring Training game last year. De Aza missed the entire season.
