Camping out Thursday

Some things on note:

* Matt Lindstrom threw one inning, and 16 pitches, in a low A Minor League game on Thursday. It was the first time he’s faced hitters since March 15, when strained his right rotator cuff. Lindstorm is expected to be on the Opening Day roster.

* Alfredo Amezaga’s knee brace has arrived, and he is wearing it for support. Amezaga continues to do drills, but he likely will start the season on the disabled list with a sprained knee. Amezaga says the brace is stabilizing his knee, and he is going through drills wearing it.

* Bullpen coordinator Pierre Arsenault expects to need four-to-six weeks to recover from a left hip condition. He is hoping to return in a couple of months. For now, he’s on crutches. The Marlins are looking to see who will assume the role, which requires catching in the bullpen. Arsenault is the lone remaining coach from the 2003 World Series title team. He is optimistic he can return in a couple of months.

* Ross Gload, acquired from the Royals on Wednesday, took a red-eye flight from Arizona to Florida and was in uniform by 11 a.m. and available to play on Friday.

* Emilio Bonifacio, who was struck on the left middle finger by a pitch on Wednesday, was out of the lineup on Thursday for precautionary reasons. Dan Uggla also was given the day off. Both are fine.
