Nolasco stays in Jupiter
Ricky Nolasco was scratched as the Marlins starter on Wednesday afternoon against the Orioles, but not because of any physical reasons.
The Marlins opted to keep Nolasco in Jupiter to have him throw a 45-pitch bullpen session. So instead of Nolasco, throwing against the Orioles at Fort Lauderdale Stadium, Minor Leaguer William Glen got the call.
Nolasco will be Florida’s Opening Day starter on Monday against the Nationals at Dolphin Stadium.
Even if he started against the Orioles on Wednesday, he was slated to throw about 45-50 pitches.
