Proctor making progress
Everything checked out nicely for reliever Scott Proctor after his right elbow was examined by a team physician — Lee Kaplan — on Sunday.
Proctor is dealing with some loose scar tissue in his throwing elbow. As a precaution, he saw the team doctor on Sunday.
“It re-affirmed what we thought,” Proctor said. “We’re going to take some time off.”
Playing it extra safe, Proctor is scheduled to undergo an X-ray in a day or two. He is backing off from throwing for a few days.
His goal is to be ready by the season opener on April 6.
“It’s always a relief to hear somebody say there is nothing to be alarmed about,” Proctor said.
He will not throw to either Wednesday or Thursday.
