Hanley's shoulder is fine
A potentially scary moment took place in the seventh inning on Monday. Hanley Ramirez, playing for the Dominican Republic, banged his right shoulder in a minor collision with Marlins pitcher Jason Standridge on a play at third base.
Both players were shaken up for a second. Ramirez stretched out his shoulder for a few seconds, before saying he was fine.
Ramirez said afterwards he is fine, and Dominican manager Felipe Alou is planning on starting Ramirez at shortstop on Wednesday against the Orioles in Fort Lauderdale.
The Marlins note that the will be kept up to date on any potential injuries or ailments Ramirez incurs during the World Baseball Classic.
Ramirez has had problems in the past with his left shoulder, not his throwing shoulder. In October after the 2007 season, he had minor surgery on his left shoulder.
