Hanley Ramirez found himself batting in a familiar spot on Tuesday, third in the lineup. But the 25-year-old All-Star was positioned as the designated hitter for the Dominican Republic in their exhibition game with the Marlins at Roger Dean Stadium.
Jose Reyes got the starting nod at shortstop, and the Mets’ All-Star was leading off. Ramirez, who prefers playing his primary position, was batting third, in front of Alex Rodriguez.
The Dominican lineup against the Marlins for Tuesday is: Reyes, Jose Bautista (1B), Ramirez, A-Rod (3B), Robinson Cano (2B), Jose Guillen (RF), Nelson Cruz (LF), Miguel Olivo (C) and Willie Tavares (CF).
